cover the burnt areas with a good unscented lotion then sprinkle baby powder over it (it should create a lil bit of a messy paste) but it really works and its very soothing for the irritated skin

hope i helped & good luck-

There's this stuff called Noxema i think? I bought it at the beach when I went there last year. It's like a lotion sort of and it soothes the burn!

There's hundreds of things that you can do for a sunburn. But to relieve the pain of a really bad burn I find that rubbing apple cider vinegar over the affected area relieves the sting and burning sensations. Make sure to keep it well moisturized using actual aloe vera and/or vitamin E ointment. And as DangerNerd suggested Noxema works wonders as well. Make sure that when bathing that you use lukewarm or cool water, hot baths or showers and make the burn worse.

i don't think there's much else you can do to help it right now. just keep putting on the aloe and burn cream constantly and maybe use some neosporin stuff that's for pain too. you're just gunna have to keep it moisturized constantly and it'll eventually begin to stop hurting as much and keeping it moisturized will also help keep it from peeling too bad.

DangerNerd answered Sunday June 5 2005, 12:55 am:
Hello there,

I had the WORST sunburn of my life when I was about 7 years old. For cooling the skin, my mother applied Noxema.

You won't believe how good it feels until you try it.

Not the kind in the squeeze tube, the kind in the blue tub/jar.

Once it starts to dry up, wash with cool water and repeat as often as you care to.

Once you have that under control, keeping the skin moist with REAL Aloe vera, as it the plant, is the best I have yet found for keeping the skin moist and helping it heal.

When I say real Aloe, I mean getting the leaves off the plant and filleting them open like a fish then applying the inner surface to the skin.

If you can't get this, the local health food store should have stuff called AlVera. It comes in a brown glass bottle, and is nothing but pure Aloe pulp. Awesome stuff, and quite inexpensive. $10-13 per QUART!

Been there, Burned that... :-)

DangerNerd.
