OrangeChikn answered Thursday May 26 2005, 11:59 am: Everybody goes through that. Practice makes perfect. Just keep trying. It's a thing that you have to get up when you fall down, because once you learn, you never forget. I thought I was never going to be able to do it when I was little, but one day I was able to balance. Just be persistant and don't give up..
craazylau answered Thursday May 26 2005, 11:13 am: Heres how to learn: Start on a grassy soft surface with no one you mind seeing around! Then sit on the saddle with your feet slightly touching the ground and sort of walk the bike forward with your feet on the ground. This will get you used to moving on the bike but will keep you in control. When you're confident with that try to lift your feet off the ground (don't worry about the pedals yet) after pushing yourself forwards with your feet, so you're going along with your feet off the ground but not on the pedals. This way you're in control if you lose your balance as you can just put your feet on the ground but get used to moving along. It would help if you did that on a gentle slope as it would be easier to move along. When you've practised this for a while try to put your feet on the pedals whilst going down a gradual slope. When you're happy doing that start pedalling round and round. Hope thats some help! Good luck ;) [ craazylau's advice column | Ask craazylau A Question ]

advice~gurl answered Thursday May 26 2005, 10:56 am: Get on it, and learn. Thats what I did. I didn't have a bike until I was 12 and no one would help me learn so I just kept getting on my bike and falling until I finally just started riding.
I would suggest learning somewhere its flat and open. Don't try to learn with other people around, That can be very embarrissing. Trust me, I have experience.
