Hey. I know I should be doing my own homework, but I can't figure this out, and maybe you could help me. I have to figure out what this poem means and the literary elements: The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
I'm really bad at english and poetry, so please help. Thanks.

Maybe there's a dreamer. One who always has her head in the clouds. She's dreaming about something wild and crazy. Something like, me or you gettin' married to Orlando Bloom. (HAH!) She's in a world of fantasy, and though she's happy while in the fantasy, she's depressed because real life isn't that way. The crow is sitting in the proverbial tree, and dusts her shoulders with snow. This "snow" brings her back to the real world. The crow helps her realize that though she might not marry Orlando Bloom, she should be content with what she's got because so many are so much more unfortunate. She's almost unhappy with herself that she ever thought that way because she's got so much, and wasn't thankful. This is why she's rueful.

The gentleman was busy sitting under this hemlock tree, or walking beneath the hemlock tree. And he was all wrapped up in some deep dark thoughts. Maybe bad thoughts, Maybe he was having a bad day. The crow, by shaking the snow out of the tree, that landed on his shoulder, sort of woke him up from his thoughts, The way they say it in english, awoke him from his reverie. And his mood changed because he was reminded about the world around him. That he is not the only person in the world. And sometimes problems are made smaller by the realization that this is a big world and we are just a small part of it.
