What Should I Wear?

Question Posted Thursday April 28 2005, 11:43 am

I'm new this year at my private school, and it's really strict! I mean, REALLY strict. Anyway, every year they have a picnic at the park, with water balloons and good food. (Finally! A time to dress casual at school!) but I just found out that girls have to wear skirts...at a picnic?! I don't know what to wear when I go, and how I can stay comfortable and look good too. It also has to be something I can get dirty because we're gonna have water guns and stuff. If you have a sollution on where to shop, thanks!

Umm..ok you can either wear a skort..:- or just wear a long skirt (not denim..it's too thick!) get like a cotton long skirt that's ruffled! <that's really in right now...you can wear a tank top or something to go along with it! Ummm try american eagle, hollister, macys, urban outfitters, orrrrr try those big department stores like foleys or dillards! hope i helped!

Well for one thing you could ask your teachers if you could wear a skort which I think should be alright, and what material it can be made out of like cotton, denim, etc.

Wear a skort! I love them! They are comfterble and you look good! what more can you ask for!!??! Sorry if this is late but this is my advice! You can wear a skort, a tank that matches and a jacket that pulls it ALL together.. and of course some jewelry! I hope this helps!

Well, you could try a skort. They look just like skirts but they are actually shorts!

Yikes, that's pretty stupid. How do they expect girls to be able to participate fully in a good water balloon fight if they're all dressed up in skirts?!

Is it possible for you to bring shorts to change into for the games?

Maybe try a jean skirt (with stretch to be comfy if you can find it) that reaches at least to your knees. I was going to suggest khaki, but that'd get dirty easily. If you think you're going to get bamboozled with water guns, wearing a thin cotton flowered skirt or something probably isn't the best idea, unless you like it when everyone can see what color undewear you have on.

On top, wear a knit t-shirt- something that looks nice, and somewhat dressy, but something with some stretch that you can move in. I say t-shirt instead of tank top, because if you're outside all day it's good to think about preventing sunburn.

I like Old Navy for this sort of outfit, but you can probably find something similar at Kohls, JC Penny's, etc.

Kohls has some really cute skirts, and you can always wear a skort to feel more comfortable and like you can move around a little more. Then for a shirt, just get a simple cotton shirt that you won't mind if it gets ruined. I'd also bring a change of clothes with you just in case. Have fun! ♥ Kristen

sounds like a problem but not too bad .. if I were you i would just wear a skirt with flip flops and a graphic tshirt that always looks cute .. Delias, Aeropostale and Abercrombie have cute tshirts and skirts. and flip flops are comfortable. It depends where you are and what the weather is like becaust you could always wear a cute wife beater [the ones that are colored because you cant see through them] hope i helped <3
