If it gets really bad, or it gets to the point where you can no longer open your eye/s, go to a doctor, you may have something under your eyelid.

Sounds like you may have some allergies. It is certainly that time of year. Go to a doctor or try some OTC benedryl allergy medicine. See if that doesn't help. A doctor is the only way to know for sure though. :)

Don't put water in your eyes, it will just hurt them more. There are a lot of minnerals in water that could scratch your eye. Use a saline solution or eye drops instead to sooth them.

It could be eye strain, have you been in front of a tv or computer screen a lot lately? Take a break, and throw in some eyedrops.

If they are more itchy than anything, then it could be allergies - it is that season. They can suddenly develop at any point in your life.
