I was just downstairs doing my homework, and I yawned. It felt like something popped and then my tongue and the outside of my neck/jaw began to hurt. It is physically painful to move my head backwards (like to look up at the sky) because it pulls on my neck and tongue and I don't know what I did...
Maybe I just pulled a muscle? Please help...it is also painful to swallow, although bearable. It feels almost like the kind of cramp you get in your foot when you flex it and then it 'catches' and continues to flex by itself.

Karen answered Friday April 15 2005, 5:24 pm: You probably may have pulled a muscle. If it also hurts to swallow, then that is something else, rather than a pulled muscle. If the pain continues through out the parts you've mentioned, then go see a doctor because this can get worse. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
ShYbl0nD3 answered Friday April 15 2005, 5:21 pm: it probably is just a puuled muscle or a pain that you would get in you foot, neck, shoulder... ect. I think that happened to me before... but i dont remember lol.
But if it keeps hurting for more than a week maybe go see a doctor, but im pretty sure its just a pulled muscle. :)

jbdreamer answered Friday April 15 2005, 5:15 pm: Yes, you may have just pulled a muscle, but you may also have popped your ear drum or have done something to your jaw. Sleep on it tonight, and if it still hurts tommarrow, go see your doctor. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]
