My knee..

Question Posted Tuesday April 5 2005, 3:45 pm

Hey, Advicenators!
I injured the ligiments, tendons, nerves in my right knee along with the hamstring. I used to be able to jog a mile in 12 minutes (uphill) without my knee hurting. I could run the mile (uphill) in seven minutes without my knee hurting. Now, I have a hard time jogging four hundred yards! I'm taking it 'slow', walking.. blah.. but, I'm now walking about three miles (once again, uphill) every day, and I can jog about 400 yards (you got it, uphill) without pain.. but I want to be as good - or better - as I was before I hurt my knee.
I stretch before I exercise, and I walk a little more than a mile three times a day, and I jog half a mile once a day. I love swimming, but it's still a little cool for that. How can I get my knee in top condition for this summer, swimming and such?
Thanks!

Sound's to me as if you are doing ok! You have been improving steadily. Just keep up what you are doing. Be sure you warm up good (as if you don't already know that).Especially if it's cold.
