Brat Alert
I baby-sit this five yr old grl. She's a nice person when there are grown-ups around. And I get paid good money and her mother is so sweet. In fact, her mother is my pastor's daughter, and they both been good to me. But the little girl aint at all what i thought. she is so worsesome. she is the most whiniest little girl i ever met in my life. she's obsessed with thats so raven and watches it all the time. she bugs me about going outside in the rain and she insults my sisters. and she's only five. how do i handle her without losing my job. because i couldnt quit and do that to her mother. the girl is a handful

just let her no that you are incharge. it seems like she is trying to take advantage of you. ask her monther how she gets punished or if worse comes to worse bribe her to be good. tell her if she can be good the whole time she can watch raven next time you come but if shes not good then she can't watch raven. She should no by now to behaive. try giving her something new to do like have a dress up day or something.

I had this problem before.. and what i did was.. whenever she got mean and being bad.. i'd have her sit in the Corner.. i no sounds old school but yeah.. and when she wants to go outside in the rain.. just let her go.. you grab a umbrella and go play with her.. she'll start seeing that you can be strict but also alot of fun.. and then she'll start respecting you

You have to be more Stern, Show her whos boss dont let her push you around if shes bad send her to her room. If it gets worse tell her parents about the whole thing and she might get punished for been like that.

Find out what else she likes other than That's So Raven - and bribe her with it! Say, 'if you go outside in the rain, I'll tell your mommy that I think you watch That's So Raven too much and you'll have to stop watching it.' Whether you do or not is a different matter, but she's a five year old - she'll believe in your authority to do that. Everytime she's naughty pick up the phone and dial her mother (you could switch your mobile off and ring that if you want to avoid confusion on her mother's part). You can hang up when she stops doing whatever it was she was doing or you can talk to her mother/pretend to talk to her mother but actually talk to her answer phone.
I baby sit my cousin a lot and one thing that always works with him is calling the 'naughty police'. Don't do this if the girl is particularly sensitive and likely to cry in fear or something though. Ring your mobile (obviously switched off) and have a pretend conversation with the 'naughty police' (e.g. 'hello, naughty police? Yes, I have a little girl here who just won't go to bed...you say she has to go to bed or you'll come here and take her away? (turn to girl) What do you say?' and hopefully she should go straight to bed!
Although, if she likes That's So Raven, record some episodes of it and say that if she's good you'll let her watch them. Not only will she probably like you for recording them especially for you, but she'll probably be good until she can watch them (bring five or something and put one back in your bag every time she's naughty). Plus she'll be out of your way, quiet and not bothering you while the programme is on!
You could also make That's So Raven costumes with her and play That's So Raven games with her - anything to get her to like you. She's more likely to do what you say if she respects you!

the girls spoild! you have to let her know who's the boss otherwize she'll just run all over you and thats not pretty if shes only 5. i had to deal with this not to long ago. But its basically like a dog, you gatta tell whos boss. And some stuff you just gatta ignore... like her insulting your sister. And its ok if shes obsessed with Thats So Raven cause at least she gets sidtrackted for a while.
