I followed the tampon instructions but the plastic part keeps coming out!
Question Posted Sunday March 27 2005, 9:59 am
When I tried putting the tampon in for the first time, I slid it in, and I tried to do what the instructions said to do, but the whole plastic part came out.
All that was left inside me was the cotton part and the string. Is that what's supposed to happen? Or did I do it totally wrong? Cus it made me nervous...
how do I do this?

Karen answered Sunday March 27 2005, 10:52 am: Yes, the plastic piece is supposed to come out and the cotton part and the string is supposed to stay in. You did this right and it's nothing to be nervous about. When you push the tampon inside with your pointer finger, the plastic piece is made to come out automatically. What you did is correct and that's the right way to put a tampon in. You'll get used to using tampons, just make sure you change them every few hours.
