Safe?
My friend told me about a free place where you can download music called Ares. The thing is, it's not a legal program. My friend says that it doesn't do anything to mess up her computer, but I'm afraid to put it on my computer. Has anyone ever had any experience with Ares? If so, is it safe to put on your computer, or will it mess it up? Please help!

Ares i believe when you download it also downloads spyware on your computer. When you're downloading progs from ares it can also download adware,spyware, and of course virus's onto your computer. Also the feds are on ares like a hooker you paid 100 bucks for. I reccomend Limewire if you're going to use it. Its free of adware and spyware. Its also not watched by the feds as of right now.

You're better off trying one of the legal sites but if you're really smart, you'll find one of the good free programs, of which I can tell you definitively, Ares is not one of them.

All downloading programs give some type of virus/spyware. So I suggest downloading whatever program and getting a spyware/adware removal program. Their free!

hey! my one friends cousin did and it totally messed up her computer it gave it viruses and it was a mess. they ended up having to get a new computer. On some computers it doesn't do a thing and on some it does..Persoanlly i wouldnt take the chance! ♥ Michelle

no go with BEARSHARE just to be safe ;), its a good program!! and legal!! and doesnt give you viruses!! well hasent given me any! hope i helped out some

well anything illegal could get you in trouble but the chances of the government finding out is small

From what I've heard from people is that Ares does give you viruses and it makes your computer run slower than usual. For some people, it doesn't do anything but for others, it gives them viruses. I've never tried Ares, since I'm using Kazaa Lite.

i tryed it on my old computer and it got broke so we got a new one dont usse it

Hey dont worry about it. I download music on limewire and that program isnt legal and im totally fine..sometimes a program has a virus so you do have to watch out
