I've always been kind of..'chubby;...

Question Posted Tuesday March 22 2005, 5:25 pm

Throughout my whole life, I've always been kind of 'pleasently plump' so to speak. Now, being thirteen, I was uber fat in elementary school, I've gained about twenty pounds since fifth grade, but I've grown a good seven inches. Is this healthy? My 'extra weight' evens out pretty well on my body..I'm five foot five and I weight about one fourty seven or so.

I have wide set hipbones, I'm a "WIDE" person..But I know I couldn't change that even if I tried, that's just my body type. SO should I even concider diet. Oh, I'm already a vegetarian...

Danke

don't diet. 147's plenty healthy being a vegetarian already, so don't stress yourself out trying to lose what sounds like some decent curves.

There is this great website that sees if your over weight or not, it has excersizes, and many more. Dont be a vegetarian and go on a regular diet *no sweets eat healthy diet* also excersize like 3 or 4 times a week. The websites name is mean but its a good website lol. it is: www.am-i-fat.com < its a great website! hope this helps! xoxo BLONDE911

you are not fat. that is a good weight to be at, even with your height. if you do the Body Mass Index ratio (height to weight), you will come out with a good weight for your height. no, do not go on a diet. you are not "chubby" and you are a healthy person.

I, personally, don't think you need to lose any weight. You're still young, and your body is going through changes. The only thing I would suggest is maybe cutting down on junk food, and that's only if YOU feel you'd like to lose a little weight. Maybe you could eat fruits or vegetables. I would recommend exercising, I don't mean it to lose weight though. Idk if you exercise or not, but it's just good for your body in general.

Hope I helped!

Your 5'5''? jeeze. Your tall for a 13 year old. Have you not tried excersising or anything? You should jog after school and buy some teen people or a magazine similar to that, they always have awsome exersises that you can do and they work 100% Also i dont know what you already eat so i can only tell you what you shouldnt. Refrain from eating any type of candy and chips and junk like that as much as you can. Whenever your sitting at home and you get the urge to eat something, eat fruits or vegetables, find out wich ones you like best that way you dont start hating to do that. But maybe your just supposed to be big, you said yourself youve always been and the whole wide set hip thing and your height just kind of goes to prove it.

You being a vegetarion is pretty much already a diet. Screw diets your too young. All it does is make you examine food for the rest of your life and go "OH MA GAWD TOOOOOOOOOOO MANY CALORIES NOT EATING IT!!"

Maybe thats just cuz i have a fast metabolism and eat whatever i want whenever i want. Thats besides the point.

You have family genes doing this to you. Its not an eating problem its just your family gene. Just work out.

i don`t think you should go on a diet. just continue to eat healthy and since you`re a vegetarian you should take vitamins to make sure you get a good source of protein and iron. you should keep a good exercise routine. everyone should.

Danke? Where you from, Germany? Austria? Anyways, diet and exercise is a good thing for everyone, overweight nor not. In your case, you sound like you're already ahead of the game by stating that you accept your body structure and know that you can not change that. Now, about the extra weight. It seems to me that you would only need to incorporate a good exercise program. Running, biking, swimming, and any other cardiovascular and aerobic type of physical activity will help you to achieve any goals you may have. I would eat only healthy things, and excercise moderately. The exercise will help to tone your body. If you do decide to go on a diet, don't take it too far; keep a good amount of calories coming through your system, and once in a while it's ok to splurge. Well, good luck; I hope I have helped.
