period

Question Posted Monday March 21 2005, 10:04 pm

I haven't gotten my period since the end of January. I'm not sexually active, and haven't been for the past year and a half. However I had lost about 7-10 pounds since the last time I've gotten my period. Is there something wrong? Or do you think that I haven't gotten my period because of my weight loss and diet change? Thanks!

Periods are irregular for the first 2-4 years of having your period. It's perfectly normal but to be on the safe side and if you're still a bit worried you should try seeing a doctor about it.

Could be weight loss.I think i'd go get checked out to be on safe side. Depends on age too.Young girls will sometimes miss because they are growing too. I'd let mom know and see what she suggests.

Nothing to worry about really. If you havent had them for a few years, then your body still hasn't worked out a proper cycle to rid itself of all that unneeded blood for a fetus... so nothing to worry about at all!! The weight loos may be due to the stressing over your period's cycle though. Only 10 pounds though, not too much to worry about, but if it persists, see a doctor about it. Stress can have horrible effects on the body.... <3 EJ

Don't worry aobut it. I know that it has happened to me before too. If your period does that it could be things like your diet, traveling and stress. Also with alot of girls for the 1st few years its normal to be irregulaur. Also with some girls no matter how long they have had it their cycle changes or is naturally irregular.
