HELP4U247 answered Monday March 28 2005, 5:57 pm: Okay First of all dont feel left out!
SEcondly you are gunna need to start simple if you live with your dad! Dayys are protective of their little girls and if hes anything like my dad he wont like the whole make up thing.
Start with a little concealor (IF YOU NEED IT) just under your eyes around the base of your nose or around your hair line. These are normal breakout places. You can also apply concealor on breakouts.
Next a little bit of eyeshadow, start with a light color go natural, browns and tans. When you are ready start expermenting and mixing. I like to put gold on the inside half of my eyelid and pink on the outside half the blen in the middle. Playing around with makeup is always really fun.trying new things will always impress people. you should try the pink and gold thing. I always get complements on it...lol. Also try darker colors on the outside and fade their way in or darker colors toward the lashes and fade up. DONT go up too far past the crease or youll look like some vegas dancer. Eyeshadows are a good way of express yourself.
When you are ready. Use the eyeliner. at 1st it may be frustrating but in time youll be a pro. Dont give up! Mistakes are part of the learning process. DONT start out with liquid eyeliner it is really hard to use. Use a pencil, brown or black. Covergirl and clinique make great eyeliner. Just color over your lower lashes. Oh, yeah you may think hey this eyeliner in only 99 cennts but usually the pricer ones work better. On the top eyelid draw a STRAIGHT line across the top of your eyelashes. Trust me it wont be straight the 1st couple times...just practice.
Kisses! Now you need some lip gloss! Lipstick taste really bad and chances are you wont be able to find a color you like so strat with some gloss. a brow or pink color is good but clear works great. Get a good flavor! LIQUID SMACKERS comes in great flavors! Cotton candy and strawberry are really good!
sshelbyy answered Friday March 25 2005, 12:16 pm: theres no safety tips for makeup except dont eat it and dont stick it up your nose, or in your eyes or ears. <p>hmm, i wouldnt jump into serious makeup because than all the people in school will look at you weird. i would start out with a little powder, blush and mascrara and lip gloss. Get a natural blush color that isnt too pink! Then like, maybe 1 week later, after people start to adjust to your new look, you can add eyeliner and eyeshadow or glitter or whatever. EYELINER=get dark brown, not black, black looks gross. any more questions? ASK! :D [ sshelbyy's advice column | Ask sshelbyy A Question ]
cheeryour<3out answered Thursday March 24 2005, 3:16 pm: well my first makeup was a gift pack from clinique! its great! When I first started wearing make-up it was very suddle! I had
-a little bit of base powder (no liquid)
-some peachy blush (NOT PINK!!!)
-light shimmery eye shadow (not dark colors like blue but a nice pink or bronze is best)
-mascara(i even had clear mascara when i just started wearing make-up)
-and a nice pink or clear lip gloss (no lipstick...ewwww)
if i were you i wouldn't want to start wearing eye liner just yet! ease into it slowly and when you have all your make-up on quick and feel like your good at it then you can wear liner! but just remember not too much!
_eMiLy answered Saturday March 19 2005, 5:56 pm: If you're going to start wearing make up just because you feel left out but you really don't feel ready to wear make up then don't.
Make-up is to make you look better or worse for that matter, make-up doesn't suit everyone.
If you're not ready to wear make-up don't.
Seriously, don't get pulled in to all the peer pressure crap. Wear it when you're ready to.
All I can say though is don't go over the top with it, try to go with the natural look at least for the first few weeks of wearing make up then you can take it a little further if necessary. [ _eMiLy's advice column | Ask _eMiLy A Question ]
xOtWiXi answered Saturday March 19 2005, 4:52 pm: The most important makeup tip ever: DO NOT OVERDO IT.
You want a natural look. I'd reccomend Tutti Dulce lipgloss by Bath and Body Works [$10, but can be on sale] in Angel Food Cake, especially if you have light eyes, it brings out your natural complexion. I'd recommend a light goldish brown eyeshadow, don't overdo it tho and eyeliner if you know how to apply it correctly =]
Neutrogena makes a great coverup/foundation!
amsybethers914 answered Friday March 18 2005, 11:37 pm: I dont think u should start out wearing foundation because it can mess up your skin..i think maybe a very subtle eyeshadow, blush, and mascara..then when u get used to that, Eyeliner!..its pretty simple..any questions??..if so don't be afraid to ask me.. =] [ amsybethers914's advice column | Ask amsybethers914 A Question ]
luckycharm answered Friday March 18 2005, 9:34 pm: hey you dont wanna start out with a lot of makeup, so i suggest you get a liquid foundation to match your skin. i use maybellene. like dream matte mousse or wondermatch. those work really well. then you could get some soft black or brown mascara and just apply lightely. its hard to find a good mascara and the one i have now isnt great so i cant help you with that. you can also get like a sheer lipgloss i use covergirl wetslicks.
^^those types of makeup will give you a natural look and it wont be all dramatic n stuff. i suggest that for someone who just started!
hope if works out for you!

Teza answered Friday March 18 2005, 1:11 am: Dont feel left out! Everyone wears make up so you could too without over doing!
First I would put the foundation//moistorizer // which ever one you prefer. Applay that but make sure you find the one that fits your skin tone and that isnt too dark. You can apply it with your finger tips or a small soft sponge 4 makeup.
The brand I would use is Cover girl!
After the foundation you can apply a lil bit of powder also Cover girl so it looks a lil bit more natrual. You can put a little of bronzer or blush on the cheek bones.
Then I would put eyeliner. Do it on the bottom. The color I would use is probably dark brown or black. MAC eyeliner works the best!
Add a lil bit of mascara! Not too much so your eye lashes dont stick together. I would eather use Revlon, MAC, or Cover girl.
After the mascara put a lil bit of eye shadow. Dont match your eye shadow with your outfit! Ever! It looks too boring. You would always want to go for different colors that dont match. I would do a smokey eye. // Thats if you know how to do it// If not then you could put shimery gold // tan eye shadow or maybe a darker color.
After all of that.. put a clear or peach lip gloss.
Tip - If you put a lil bit of foundation on y our lips and then chapstick and then add lip gloss it stays on longer!!
lostsoul_forever answered Friday March 18 2005, 12:20 am: Ok, if you feel left out, then who cares!? If you want to then be careful not to wear too much! But like, I say just be you freaking self and don't care what your friends are doing. Just be yourself. Oh and if you ask your dad then be very careful about that.
Tiffany_Beth answered Thursday March 17 2005, 11:20 pm: i would sujest just wearing eyliner and a eyeshadow color you look good in... like i wera just a shiny tan color... also NOT TO DARK!! guys think that looks tacky... i use wet -n- wild about 200 at any wal mart or drug store. if you need any thing else feel free to e-mail me or post on my column.
snoopy answered Thursday March 17 2005, 10:57 pm: since its your first time i would sggest light eyeshadow and lipgloss.

Little_Miss_Cant_Be_Wrong answered Thursday March 17 2005, 10:51 pm: Since you are just starting to use it, start off slow, you don't want to cake a ton of it on and look silly. Here's a list of just some of the 'basic essentials' that every girl should have.
-A foundation or powder (depending on your skin type) that matches your skin tone.
-A blush, along with a good blush brush.
-Mascara, I would reccommend black, it really opens up your eyes and looks good on everyone.
-A black or brown eyeliner.
-A neutral eyeshadaw.
-Lipgloss.
Right now, your probably want to just go for a natural, pretty look, so this is what I would do. Put your facial lotion on first, then put on your foundation or powder. After that, put on a light colored, pinkish blush using upward strokes on the roundest part of your cheeks toward your hairline. Don't use a circular motion unless you want little clown circles on your cheeks. I would do your eyes next... First, apply a sheer, neutral color, like an ivory or shimmery beige all over your eyelid, from lashes to eyebrow. Then, keeping your eyes open, apply a slightly darker color (only a few shades darker, for example if you were using a creamy color first, use a very light brown for this part) just in the crease of your eye. This will give your eyes some depth and open them up a little. If you want to use eyeliner, draw a THIN line along your top lashes, and then maybe underneath as well, if you want. I wouldn't go overboard with the bottom eyeliner just yet though, since that would be a very dramatic change, so if I were you, I would work your way up to wearing more makeup. Put your mascara on top AND bottom lashes, add a cute lipgloss, and ta-da...can you say BEAUTIFUL?
Here are some brands I would reccommend... until you know what kind of makeup you like best, color wise, and such, I wouldn't buy expensive stuff. Play around and experiment for awhile, and you will figure out a makeup routine that works for you. Just go to a supermarket, or drug store and try out Covergirl, or Maybelline, or something like that...maybe Revlon, it really doesn't matter. They all have good makeup, and aren't too costly. Just one tip on mascara, though... I've found Maybelline to be have the best mascara that you can get without going to a more expensive brand. While you are still experimenting, get some eyeshadows that come with a bunch of different colors in one compact. That way you can see what color works best with your eyes. I hope this helped...I have alot of experience with makeup, application of makeup, and different brands, so leave me a message in my inbox if you want any more help. If you want, you could let me know your skin type, and the colors of your eyes, and I could give you some pointers on what colors would probably work best for you. Good luck, and have fun! i3ARBIExLOVE answered Thursday March 17 2005, 10:15 pm: Hey well, go to Sav-on and go to their makeup section. All you really need is black eyeliner, anykind is fine, mascara, again any kind is fine. And a few shades of eyeshadow that go with your skin. Get a bronzer that is matching to your skin and thats all you really need.
Always there..
