ok i wrote a question about the whole shop liftin situation but in case you didnt read it its just about i was caught shopliftin for my friend and blah blah blah thats basically it but i was wonderin if the punishment my parents gaave me was fair,they told me i had no tv no phone the whole 9 yards and im only writin this bc no one is home but the worst punishment is the fact that my bday is tommorow and they said i have no birthday this year....even after my punishment r they bein to harsh?

Shoplifting is a misdemeanor. I can understand why your parents are punishing you this way (and even to an extent agree with them), but if you feel like this is too harsh of a punishment, try talking to your parents. Are you remorseful about shoplifting (as opposed to being remorseful about being caught)? Be sincere and try to work this out, but if your parents are really steamed, don't expect too much.
Stop stealing. It's wrong and you can go to jail for it.

They are being way too harsh. But maybe on their terms they aren't because thats not who they raised you to be. It's still gonna be your birthday no matter what. No one can change that. Even when they say its cancelled.

Do you really want me to answer truthfully? Well, in some ways it is too harsh but in others it isnt. Like you didnt have to shoplift for your friend.. and your punishmet was no cell phone and blah blah blah. But i guess it is harsh to say no birthday, that is the one time of the year you get anything you want. Maybe you can ask yuor parents to comprimise with you and just get you a little somthing. Or just ask one of your friends to throw you a 'surprise' party and just go!
