Meags227 answered Sunday March 6 2005, 1:19 pm: First and foremost, I must say, you are the coolest person ever! lol, jk, i love basketball, too. If you want to work on your shots, then just shoot around every chance you get. If you have a hoop outside thats great, but you can also go to the park. Get some friends to play with you, too. If you want to work on ball-handling, take a basketball and dribble as much as possible. Dribble a lot with your left, then with your right, then cross-overs, then between your legs, then behind the back, etc. This may seem easy, but it really does help. You can get creative- make up your own games or drills and have fun. Hope I helped!

xplisit15 answered Saturday March 5 2005, 11:23 pm: This sounds weird, but play basketball with a few guys..if you have a guy friend whos on a basketball team or someone who likes to play alot for funm ask em for a game of like 2 on 2 after school. I got better by playing guys, theyr taller so it forces you to shoot better. And alot of guys on basketball teams have some great skills they'll love to show off, lol. It worked for me, i learned some new moves too. Try it out [ xplisit15's advice column | Ask xplisit15 A Question ]
RoadkillSalad answered Saturday March 5 2005, 7:54 pm: Good pectoral and triceps workout.... Push-ups, chin-ups, anything of that sort. Running will also keep your legs in good shape, I recommend working up until you can run a mile in 6:30 (Minutes:Seconds) if your a guy and 7:30 as a girl. It should help you out a lot. Otherwise, shooting hoops like any other person will help your accuracy skills, but just some good exercises will do the trick, push-ups, pull-ups, chin-ups, sit-ups. I recommend those. KaTiE_LyNn answered Saturday March 5 2005, 5:34 pm: ball handling: sit on the edge of a chair and put your legs together at a 90 degree angle and dribble under your legs. also work on crossovers, spins, behind the back, and between you legs.
passing: get a friend to work on passing with you. stand close together and work on tosses and hand`offs. take a few steps back and work on chest passes and bounce passes. get someone else to get between you and your friend and work on passing around them.
shooting: start a few feet away from the goal and shoot about 30. then take a few steps back and work on your jump shots and shoot 50-100. then shoot about 50 free throws. then work on your 3 pointers. shoot 10-20 from each corner, 10-20 from each wing, and shoot 10-20 from the top of the key.
when you`re starting to practice, start with lay`ups, then block`shots, then crossover lay`ups. make sure you work extra hard with your weak hand.
Sherry answered Saturday March 5 2005, 5:20 pm: Play one-on-one with someone! If you keep playing, you will get better eachtime. And if you want to get good at your "freethrows" <--I think thats how you spell it. Just do a bunch of those everyday! [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
