wantinganswers112 answered Thursday February 24 2005, 10:30 am: you average them out. For each A, plug in a 4, for each B a 3, for each C a 2, D I belive is 1, and F is 0. Then you put them together and average them out. If you have all A's, it comes out to a 4.0. [ wantinganswers112's advice column | Ask wantinganswers112 A Question ]
tragic_eyes_x answered Thursday February 24 2005, 10:22 am: It depends on your rank, whether you are in accel. or acad. and 4.0 isn't the highest, 4.5 i, 4.0 may even be a B, but it all depends on your level.
Karen answered Thursday February 24 2005, 9:02 am: If you know all of your letter grades that averages out to an 87, change them all to numbers. For example, an A would be a 4, a B would be a 3, a C would be a 2, a D would be a 1, and an F would be a 0.
If you had 4 A's, 3 B's, and 1 C, the conversation for that would be: 4,4,4,4,3,3,3, and 2. Then you add them up and divide the sum by how many numbers you used.
Shortie8959 answered Thursday February 24 2005, 8:53 am: Ok, I think I know what you're talking about.
A - 4
B - 3
C - 2
D - 1
F - 0
You add them together, then divide that number by the number of grades. Let's say you have 3 A's, 2 B's and a C, you would do 4 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 2. That's 20. Then you would divide that by 6. And the answer is 3.33.
Hope I helped!
