EMO is like...EMOtional music. It shows lots of emotion, such as a breakup or being mad at someone. Simple Plan and Yellowcard are some examples of Emo music.

EMO means "EMOtional" and any music that talks about someone's feelings such as breaking up with someone and so on, that's EMO. Yellowcard is EMO, for example.

"emo" music is "EMOtional" music. It can be anything from a boyfriend singing a love song to his girlfriend, a song dedicated to a deceased person/pet, a song that is depressing and the like. An emo song is basically any sort of music that shows alot of emotion, no matter really what kind. (anger too) happy listening!!

Emo is an offshoot of pop-punk. Even though it stands for "emotional" the only emotions expressed are sadness, melancholy, and hopelessness. So it basically whiny music about being dumped or having a girlfriend not call you, and an overall disgrace to all music.

Emo is short for "emotional." Emo is a broad title that covers a lot of different styles of emotionally-charged punk rock. Taking back Sunday is an example :)
