ok, so, I'm in the 8th grade and I live in, and I'm about to go to highschool, but I dont know which one to go to. 2 highschools, brooklyn tech in brookyn and townsend harris in queens, have offered me a seat, and they're both good. but townsend is like REALLY good and it's hard to get into, but I heard there's a LOT of hw, like 4 hours worth of it every day, and going to townsend is like completely giving up your social life, and everyone's telling me to go there. I want to go there cuz it's close to me, and it's really intelligent, but I wont know anyone there. people that used to go to townsend said that college seemed easy compared to the highschool, and that they benefited a lot from the school. most of the kids I know are going to brooklyn tech. the school's definately not as good as townsend but it's still good because it's one of the six specialized highschools in nyc, but I'm really interested in it because some of my best friends are going there, and becuz I kno there will be tons of hot guys.

I would go to townsend. Going to that school would be good for your future because it would prepare you for college, and you would get a quality education. YOu would def. meet new friends there so you wouldn't have to worry about that. And as far as boys go I'm sure there are cute ones at townsend, but honestly that shouldn't be a determining factor in what school you decide to go to.

Don't listen to what people keep telling you. Go to the school you think ikt's best. You will make plenty of new friends.

In my opinion, you should definitely go to Townshend Harris in Queens, since everyone wants you to go there and since you want to go there also. You can still have a social life when you go to this school; just do your homework once you get home and you can then call your friends and go somewhere. If this school is closer and better than Brooklyn Tech, then you should go to Townshend. You can always have fun but getting a chance of going to a good school is like very slim. You should go to Townshend. Just make a list of the pros and cons of each and decide which school you want to go to. Hope I helped :)

I'm going to go againt my gut here and say Brooklyn Tech. From what you say, it isn't a bad school, just not as good as Townsend. Above average, even.
And, to take a quote from my very good friend who is very wise:
Homework will get you through high school, but people will get you through life.
In the adult world, what matters even more than *what* you know is *who* you know. For networking and your mental health. :)
Friendship is a beautiful thing. If you think you won't be able to make good ones at Townsend, do not go there.

I personally would choose Townsend (Even though i dont know anythign about either) because if it is THAT Good, it will be a great experience. It will also help you later in life when getting jobs, applying for college ETC>. Plus, itll be an oppurtunity to meet new people, make new friends, and still keep the old!!! With whatever one you choose, i hope you have fun, and goodl luck!

Honestly I think that you should go to townsend. I heard that it was a pretty good school.. I have a couple of friends that have gone there b4. I think that Its a great oprotunity for you to meet new people.. never be afraid of that. Also it doesn meangiving up your social life.. theres always time for that. always remember, theres a time for work and theres a time for play!
