Record Player

Question Posted Sunday January 23 2005, 10:22 pm

Anyone know where I can buy a decent record player other than Ebay? I bought one off of there and it broke before the first song ended. Any web sites or store suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks!

I tell everyone this who is looking for vintage things, try the salvation army, old vintage stores, and record stores. If you know a place where a lot deejays hang out, go there, because they will most likely have one there, too. Garage sales and yard sales are also a cool place to look, but you may find more records than record players. Also, ask older family members if they have any, you'd be suprised. Good Luck.

A record player? what's that? no.. I'm just kidding.. Well my band teacher just broke his older one also and he said Best Buy and Circuit City sell them for a cheap price. (about $100) I want to get one too, actually, for my mom's birthday.. So try any electronics store, oh and amazon.com.. they have good stuff too.

Hope I helped!

Go to any music instrument store that carries DJ equipment. They will carry turntables. Most turntables these days aren't cheap. You might also check to see if any local audiophiles have any advice - in fact, some audiophiles might have some decent old turntables they are willing to part with that will be in better shape than some of the shit people sell on eBay.

The best place to look for them is garage sales- generally they are cheaper (and if not you can haggle the price) so if they are junk you can toss them out without much loss. Plus you can talk to the owner directly, and hopefully find out if it does work.
