WEll my sister wanted the same thing as do to have it stop when on Vacation. My mom heard from a doctor that there is this new medicine that helps the flow slow down and prevents cramps and headache. It is probaly in like a CVS or Giant or any other drug store. It is called MIDOL and it really reduces the flow says my sister...hope that was a help

Well you can't really do anything except going on the pill. The pill also regulates your period also. It takes a few months to kick in but if you're going on vacation in a few months, it'll help. If not, the only thing you can do is to hope you don't get it and to just wear tampons. Hope I helped :)

My girlfriend uses the contraceptive daily pill and one of the main reasons (apart from the obvious) is that it means she has a level of control over when her... stuff... goes on. I'm not that well informed (this stuff scares me) but i know that you can use it to stop menstruating when you don't want to- she had exactly the same problem as you (holiday) and solved it that way.

A lot of exercise keeps your period light and short. But for extreme measures and quick results- stop eating. It stops your period all together until you want it again. LIke i said, kind of extreme but that's all there is.

Peace

A safer way would be birth control to shorten it, but that requires a doctors visit and can get kind of expensive if you don't go to Planned Parenthood or another health clinic

Well you cant do anything to change it...it comes when it comes. All you can do is hope you dont get your period! Sorry!
