If your hair is kind of straight/wavy, I suggest you to use a CON-AIR straightner. If you have thick hair, look for straightener's that have gold plates. The gold plate ones seem to work the best. There are many brands to them but you can find them at a place like Target. There it should only be around $18-$20. Usually no more than $25

I just got a ceramic straightener for christmas. its works great. flat irons usually tend to ruin or dry out you hair and doesnt work as well. a good price for a ceramic straightener is about 30$ for a pretty good one. good brands: hot tools, remington, and vidal sasoon.

"Hot Tools-Professional" is the greatest! I use it every day. And DON'T get the ceramic ones! They aren't good and don't work well..even though people say they do. There's just a regular hot iron with gold-colored plates. I get mine at Sally's Beauty Supply, but you can only go in there if you have a professional hair dresser with you. You could probably find them at like Target or Walmart (department stores), I guess? At Sally's I think they cost about $20 to $35, I'm not really sure. But believe me, they are REALLY worth your money!! Good luck ♥

The straightner I use is called VS SASSON. It has "gold" metal plates and it was wonderful. I got mine at Walgreens for about 15 or 20 dollars. I have had it for about 2 years and it has not broken or anything like that. It works GREAT!!!
Hope this helps!

I have a Conair Ceramic Professional Hair Straightener. It has 25 heat settings! =) If you can't get that exact one, then just make sure you get a straightener that has ceramic plates - those are the best.

Mine cost between $15-25.00 =)

Try using a shampoo and conditioner that straightener your hair - Pantene Pro-V Smooth and Sleek - Works really well =)

Make sure that your hair is fully dry before you straighten it!

Good luck! =)

Ghd's are great straighteners. Lee Stafford Poker straight hair serum is for after youve had a shower it calms your hair before straightening and also stops your hair from getting static at the top! xx

i got a really cheap ceramic one at target. i agree with the others, ceramics are the best. also, when you get out of the shower, blow dry your hair and make sure the dryer is facing down. that will minimize fly-aways. oh and my straightener cost me like $20, which is a deal now-a-days. anything less is probly crappy when it comes to quality. its a conair btw. .:.curbside prophet.:.

NEVERLETG00 answered Thursday January 6 2005, 1:15 pm:
i dont know what brand i have but get a ceramic straightener, they work the best, their the ones with goldish plates on it. all i do to striaghten my hair, take a shower, blow dry until fully dried, then i heated up the straightener and then straightened my hair. and it works fine, theres sprays and gells to help keep your hair straight throughout the day, you just have to dry a bunch of them to find out what you like best (some when you run your fingers thru your hair will make your hair become statike or whatever) x0 Renee

Try buying a CHI flat iron or a Helen of Troy. I bought my Helen of Troy flat iron for more than $150 and Sally's Beauty Supplies. When I get out of the shower, I put this gel into my hair called Straight Works and it helps straighten and smooth my hair. It costs about $15. I also put in Simply Sleek by John Freida but you need to be brunette to use that. Hope I helped :)
