Try looking in a search engine for free web hosts. You should be able to find some really good rating sites which will tell you about the site and help you see if it's what you want.

It depends on how great of a site you are looking to make. If you want to make a small not real high teck site to give out to your friends then I would recomend expage.com. You can get a free simple one...or pay for a nicer one. But that is all the info I know about hosting sites. Looking it up on yahoo would probably help a lot too.
