how can I get rid of my car?

Question Posted Wednesday January 5 2005, 8:12 am

I have just moved to Virgirnia from Oklahoma, and I want to buy a new car. However the registration of my old car is expired. I am wondering whether I can trade-in this car when I buy a new car. If I can not, how can I get rid of it?

As long as you have a clear title it shouldn't be a problem. Call a major car dealership and ask. They will let you know what needs to be done if anything.

As far as I know you can't get the trade-in value of a car that isn't current on it's info.Since the laws vary state by state, check with your local DMV,they will be able to tell you what your options are!Hope this helps! :)
