I love gymnastics, but I went to this one gym and I had no friends there. Yes, i am pathetic like that. So I switched gyms and it seems like they don't really like me there either so I don't really have any friends there. And it's a pretty lonely 3 hours each night when no one really likes you or talks to you. i love competing but i just have no friends there are theres no other gyms around. the only reason i don't want to quit is because i love tumbling and i'll get fat and won't be known as the strongest girl in my school anymore. but i love gymnastics i just dont have friends and i hate wearing a leotard. should i quit? i only went to 2 practices at this new gym, but i don't really like it. i'm gonna look like an idiot quitting after this soon, but i don't want my parents to buy all the new team leo's, warm ups, and evrything

Stick it out a few more weeks and see how it is and if you fell like know one is trying to be your friend then go back to your old gym. try saying hi to the girls in your level and being supportive on new skills.

acsd answered Saturday January 8 2005, 9:56 pm: if you love doing gymnastics, there is no reason to quit...go to the gym and do what your teacher says...practice hard, and when you guys are practicing, make sure your doing everything right so that the other girls see your good...it doesnt matter if the other girls dont like you, cause gymnastics is an individual sport...its not like you have to rely on them to do good...make sure your doing what you have to and dont let other people impact you decision.. ♥ [ acsd's advice column | Ask acsd A Question ]
i_LOVE_badboys answered Wednesday January 5 2005, 12:12 pm: listen hun if you still love it then keep doing it because you know you are going to regret it if you do quit and dont care if the others dont like you just try your hardest and they will eventually like you because you seem like a really nice person and if you quit who said you were going to turn fat the only way you can turn fat is if you dont eat right and dont exercize [ i_LOVE_badboys's advice column | Ask i_LOVE_badboys A Question ]
Douchey answered Tuesday January 4 2005, 11:31 pm: Well, you know if gymnastics is what you love to do then you should do it. The harder you work at it then better you'll get. Then people at the gym will start to notice you more and approach you. Also, why don't you approach others. If you see someone do an awesome routine (I really don't know what any of the gymnastic moves are called, sorry) go up to him/her and compliment them, ask them questions. Get to know the other people. Trust me, it'll be lots of fun. [ Douchey's advice column | Ask Douchey A Question ]
lyDia_LoU answered Tuesday January 4 2005, 10:26 pm: It doesn't seem like you've given this gym much of a chance. Stick it out for a few more weeks then if it still isn't fun for you then you could go back to your old gym. Don't quit the sport just because you don't have friends! You'll hate yourself later for doing it. [ lyDia_LoU's advice column | Ask lyDia_LoU A Question ]
AEaglegurl121 answered Tuesday January 4 2005, 10:05 pm: If you love gymanstics enough you shouldnt quit. I would say try and make separate friends at the gym. That you can hang out with when you go for practice. Ive learned to do that with my karate. It something i would like to pursue enough that i have made friends there.
tomwellingmysuperman answered Tuesday January 4 2005, 9:58 pm: I don't really know yo so I cannot say for sure, but maybe you need to talk to them more. If you don't really talk to them, they obviously aren't going to want to be your friend. Also make sure that you don't ever brag or show off your skills. That will only make them dislike you. hope i helped ~~chloe [ tomwellingmysuperman's advice column | Ask tomwellingmysuperman A Question ]
XxXHyperGirlXxX answered Tuesday January 4 2005, 9:52 pm: I think that you should not quit if you really like tumbling. Just try to talk to the others, try making new friends. If you really like doing this then stick wiht it.
If you have trouble going up to people and just talking to them and if you have nothing to talk about then ask them how long they have been tumbling for or where they are from and just gymnast stuff, liek that.
Well good luck
I hope you dont quit because it seems liek you liek doing this. [ XxXHyperGirlXxX's advice column | Ask XxXHyperGirlXxX A Question ]
aNgeLxfOrEvEr answered Tuesday January 4 2005, 9:52 pm: Just start talking to people in your team/class. Eventually you'll make some friends. They don't NOT like you. They probably just don't know you so they don't talk to you. Get to know them and have fun. If you really HATE gymnastics--then talk to your parents about it. I know how expensive it is--I did gymnastics for several years. It's not worth the money if your not having fun. Go a couple more days and if you really don't like it, tell your parents. Hope this helped ♥ [ aNgeLxfOrEvEr's advice column | Ask aNgeLxfOrEvEr A Question ]
