I have this bump on my armpit and my mom says its a razor burn, and i looked it up & it says the bumps can stay for 6 months-1 year. What can I use to try and get rid of it?

jbdreamer answered Thursday December 16 2004, 2:07 pm: It most likely is razor burn like your mom said. Try shaving with a cream, not a gel. And don't use deoderant the same day you shave. It could also be a cyst, my sister gets them all the time. Sit with a hot washcloth under your armpit, it will soften it up. Eventualy it will drain. no, just make sure you put lotion on everyday to keep it moisturized. and try not to shave over the bump.. thats what caused the problem in the first place, so you dont want to keep doing it, now do ya? [ UWishUHadMyHemi's advice column | Ask UWishUHadMyHemi A Question ]
AsKmE135 answered Wednesday December 15 2004, 9:15 pm: Try using a soothing deoderent, like Dove. Also, sometimes you can get a rash from different types of deoderents, so that might be what caused the bump. Like, i get rashes from Secret and Lady Speed Stick, but not Dove or Ban or Adidas. (2 much info? sry lol) So try not shaving for a few days, and if it still doesnt go away or if it gets worse, try changing ur deoderent. Hope i helped! xluvinux answered Wednesday December 15 2004, 9:01 pm: use some lotion. next time try to shave up, and don't press too hard. if you are conscious of it right now, don't wear short short sleeves for when you raise your hand in class. =)

Berri answered Wednesday December 15 2004, 8:31 pm: No no no. I don't think they last that long (that is, if it is razor burn, which it most likely is if you shave your armpits.). Did they appear right after you shaved? If it's razor burn, it usually goes away in about...a week? Two at the most? Just be more gentle when you shave, and use a shaving cream that's specifically for shaving under your arms or that says "sensitive skin/moisturizing/something like that." They also have deodorants that help with that. I think Ban makes it? [ Berri's advice column | Ask Berri A Question ]
