umm... ha ha that is an easy one... the only thing is to run as often as you can... but the trick is run really hard one day like 2-3 miles then the next day do like a light run you know like 1-2 miles and run really slow...

Oh my, running is my passion and id love to help you out. Ive been running varsity cross country and track for two years now and i started out last onm the cross country team roster. Im not 3rd best on my team. A common misconception is that you have to start out working every day doing crazy workouts. That will get you nothing but sore and tired out. You should start out doing 2 or 3 days a week and dont work on speed as much as durability. You should try to keep a steady pace and really keep a good posture. Then after about 2 weeks of this add mileage. This will build up your muscles and you'll be faster in no time. Just concentrate on a steady schedule, keeping your pace, and setting a new goal every week. Keep me posted, and good luck!

I was in cross country and i improved by about 2 minutes in a mile. (from 8.20 to like 6.40) just run EVERY day, like 2 or 3 miles. Just make sure you stretch before and after. This is VERY important. ~hope i helped and happy holidays~ *lyl

Just start running! Run 1/2 of a mile or a so to start out, time yourself, and as each day goes, see if that 1/2 mile gets faster. If you become faster, then go up to 1 mile, and so on. Don't start out too drastic, like forcing yourself to run 4 miles a day, that won't do anything. You have to build your leg muscles up so they're ready for it.

Just start practicing running everyday! Don't run for such a long distance because that will slow you down! Do some leg exercises to make your legs stronger so you can run faster! Hope I helped :)
