Small wooden room
My daugthers room is very very small is has hardwood floors and walls so its not very attractive for her 15th birthday we're redoing it we ordered her a loft bed but we'd like some ideas on how to redecorate and we'd like to know if its okay to paint on the wood walls. We want a color that will open it up thanks for your help!

well if your painting this permanently, then i say its ok to paint the walls. paint the walls your daughters favorite color, maybe if its not to hard you could try to go out and buy cool things that your daughter would like, and maybe u could buy small shelves to put on the walls and put some cool colectors iteams that she likes on them.

If you're going to open up her room, you need to use a bright/light color. Use a light blue/pink/white/yellow or any pastel color or a light color. You could also just paint it white and accent it with different colors. For her windows, use a sheer fabric and light curtains to bring light into the room. And yes, it is okay to paint on wood walls. My room is pretty small, I am getting a loft bed for myself so that it will give me more room. I have all of my walls painted white except for one which is my favorite color, pink! You could do that too. My room is accented with all different shades of pink and oranges and reds and yellows. Those are great color combonations. Make it comfortable too! Lots of pillows and soft fabrics. Peir One, Macy's, Home Goods, and even Wal*mart have great stuff! Hope this helped.

yah it should be okay just but a primer on under it and paint it blue girls love blue or pink if she likes pink get her a new rugg or some thing

maybe a hot or light pink on the walls..or a cute wall paper....get her cute stuff like fuzzy lamps and maybe a cute fold up chair ....little things are rele cute...u can make curtains out or pink lace thats rele cute!

k well what i would do is get a floor to ceiling mirror to cover one wall. Cover the other walls w/ funky fabrics or a paint color she wud like. Also, get picture of celebrities she likes,friends, and family to make into a colage u can plaster on a wall. as for the floors, keep the hard wood but get a small baby pink carpet that will not cover the whole floor. If she is into fashion/makeup, under her loft bed build a vanity with lights and put clothing racks around it so she can hang clothes there. good luck, also tell me what colors she likes and hobbies and stuff and i can give u an even better idea

i dont know about painting the walls but i am 15 and i wish i had wood floors...i would say if she is in to clothes like i am you could make a runway type thing with a red carpet from her closet and it would be like really awesome...i think the loft bed i dea is really cool too

Painting on wood isn't always a good idea, you may want to put paneling up and paint over that.
And as for the color, I would think a light blue would be nice, as long as the room gets enough sunlight from a window. Bright colors don't do much unless they are in a well-illuminated room.

I think it's fine as long as the wood doesn't show through.. you should try her favorite colors and some things she interests for like comforters and pillows and stuff =]
