Interior Design or Video Editor?

Question Posted Sunday September 19 2004, 1:23 am

I can't make up my mind what I want to study. I am a 21 yr old male. I was going to go to school to learn about video editing because I have an interest in that, but now my friend and I had an idea to go to this design school and get certificates for interior design and start our own business. I can't decide because I am interested in both. Which of the two sounds like a better idea. And if anyone is a video person or an interior designer I would like to know how the salaries of these two occupations compare.

While salaries are important, I do not beleive they should be the be all or end all part of your decision. You should go with what you enjoy more. Do you get more fun out of video editing or home designing? A pro and con list also helps. I've noticed that people can understand things much better when they are in writing. Good luck man, and I hope you do well with whatever decision you make.

Well man im a 19 year old attending Collins College in the media arts, my girlfriend attend the same school in the area of Interior Design. So let me begin my classes deal with Video editing which is great fun and has perks such as cash (if your good). Its the same as Interior Designing you have to work your way up, and since naturally i'm more interested in film I say be a video editor, but since I don't know you too well just take a few classes in both and see which one you prefer.

what i would do is go ahead and write both of them down on a sheet of paper and actually look at the responsibilities for each one of them you have to do. Then afterwords look at yourself in the future of what your going to be "an interior designer" or "video editing"

you just gotta pick the one that suits you more and also which comes to mind more often as well then you will probably even do better at your job too. I hope that you will do well and make your own decision when the time comes and when you get a job congrats:P

I'm actually interested in both. lol So you have 2 good decisions to make. Either one, I'm sure you'll do fine. Honestly, I'm a huge movie buff and love anything movies. But I also like decorating. I'd chose the video editing though. That's just my personal preference.

I think you can do a google search for a website that has different career's saleries. I forgot the name of it though sorry!
