Yes, it is. Give it a few months and your period should become normal or disappear entirely, since depo makes you stop ovulating. If you are still having these symptoms by this time next month, I would schedule an appt with the doctor, just to get a check-up. Take care and be healthy. ]
It amazes me that doctors will prescribe a drug to someone without explaining all of the side effects of that drug. Yes, it's normal, after a few months your period should completely stop. I say should because some people experience small amounts of spotting once in a while, say.. every two months or so. But until then it's not uncommon at all to experience irregular periods and very heavy periods.
If I were you I would complain to your doctor for not explaining all of this to you before hand. And next time you get on a new drug ask the doctor a few hundred questions about it so that you know exactly what your getting yourself into. Do not simply trust in the doctor to tell you everything you need to know. You need to ask about everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. That way you wont get worried when you notice something like this. ]
That's totally normal. One of my very good friends was on the shot for about a year, and she got her period for 2 months straight! Even today, quite a few months later, her period is still messed up. That is one of the main side effects of the birth control shot. You have nothing to worry about, and hopefully, it will even out soon.

Yes, it is normal. You should have been explanied all the side effects by your doctor. Did they give you a pamlet about the drug at all? If not, ask your doctor for more information. ]
