It's very easy, and it doesn't hurt one bit. First, if you're like thirteen, you may need to wear pads because your vagina may not be large enough for a tampon.

Steps.

1. WASH YOUR HANDS! THAT'S IPORTANT!
2. Sit down on the toilet and open your vagina with your thumb and index finger.
3. GENTLY place the tampon into your vagina with the string hanging out still.
4. After you feel it's ready to take out, gently pull the string and it should come out. Wrap the tampon in a napkin and throw it away.

There are directions in every box, so I won't bother telling you much, but the best thing to do is sit on the toilet, and RELAX. If you're tense about it, it WON'T go in. So just be calm and relax. Be sure to get the kind with applicators, so you don't have to stick your fingers in there. Yeah, gross. Just be sure to read all the directions, and remember, don't tense up.

Well, you should always read the directions before you put one in. Ok, first you just open the wrapping around the tampon. Then you just put your two fingers on the holding grip and bend down a little and stick the tampon in your vagina. Once your fingers touch the skin down there, take your pointer finger and push the end thing so the tampon can slide in your vagina. It might hurt for a little bit but it won't hurt afterwards. The directions on the box explain this better but I hope I helped :)
