Question Posted Tuesday August 31 2004, 4:07 am

My hair has gotten really dry over the summer, because of the sun. the sea and because i straighten it all the time. Do you know any products or treatments which might help.

Hey. you can go to a nearby salon and have them do this hot oil treatment which helps it go back to normal and silky smooth. or you can go look for the nuetrogena 60 hot oil treatment. something like that $6 at Walmart. Hope i helped! Take Care. x3 SweetStar.

omg this same thing happened to me and listen! I switched salons and the lady said that my hair was so damaged that it might break off so listen up to the things you gotta do...

1) Don't use any hair products with achol (sp?) . That drys it out a lot. Go for all natural products like they sold me all this aveda stuff.

2) Don't wash your hair every day. Expecally since you strighten it like me. You won't have to put as much heat if you strightened it the day before. This seems totally grose to me but I washed my hair every day (sometimes twice) and it's so dry. The guy that cuts my hair was all, hair isn't ment to be washed every day, because the natural oils have to get into it to make it moist.

3) Some deep conditioner once in a while is good.

when you buy new shampoo and conditioner, look at the back of the bottle. if it says it includes any type of wax, you shouldn't use it. that not only dries out your hair, it makes it oily faster! herbel essense or suave would be great examples of something NOT to use. straightening is something you just cant stop doing, right? you don't have to stop- just turn the heat level down.. it will fry your hair less.

Try scrunching it instead of straightening all the time and use a cute headband because if you scrunch sometimes it looks weird without a headband. Dont use gel in your hair cuz that can dry it out.. use mouse. I have dry hair too .. from straightening and i use this shampoo and conditioner in a BIG orange bottle called sleek looks. It is expensive ($26 for both) but it works soo good... trust me. Dont wash all the conditioner out but get most of it. OK hun good luck!! Hope it helps!

Mabye you should try not straightening all the time because it damages the hair and makes it dry.But if you cant live without it then get biosilk, they have it Publix. It works great and will make your hair silky
