Ask_Anything answered Friday August 27 2004, 6:14 pm: well i know whose line is it anyway is all made up on the spot (improvising), operah (im assuming you meant to say) has sort of a rehearsed line set-up. operah herself has certain questions she reads off [i believe] but the people she asks dont have cue cards to read. from what i think, they might be advised as to what questions will be asked so they can come up with answers ahead of time. TRL is read off cue cards unless they are talking to kids in the crowds or something. im not sure about Mad TV because i dont watch it [or i dont think i do]... so hope this advice helped, good luck with your drama class =] -ask_anything [ Ask_Anything's advice column | Ask Ask_Anything A Question ]
Karen answered Friday August 27 2004, 6:10 pm: Yea, all these shows have cue cards that people read off of except Mad TV. They have to rehearse their lines like in movies. Also, when you are watching like TRL, it is actually 30 second ahead of time. So lets say if someone swears or messes up, the producers and all the staff have less than 30 seconds to fix what they mess up. I know it sounds confusing but it's hard to type it out lol. Hope I helped and good luck in your drama class :) [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
storageanddisposal answered Friday August 27 2004, 6:06 pm: Operas usually sing classical songs that have been around for ages, either that or sing in a musical someone wrote. TRL is read from cue cards as far as I know, and mad TV is a collection of skits written well before the show and rehearsed by the actors. Whose line is it anyway is well-known for being improvised, so they make it up on the spot. [ storageanddisposal's advice column | Ask storageanddisposal A Question ]
