SaraEliKirk answered Wednesday August 25 2004, 1:08 am: how do you tell a friend that? this person is obviously not a friend but you shouldnt make up stuff, if your so much more mature than they are then tell them the truth. (honesty is the best policy). Why all of a sudden is age a problem its not like they got older over nite! Tell them that your busy or you cant "hang out". :*:SaRa:*: [ SaraEliKirk's advice column | Ask SaraEliKirk A Question ]
russianspy1234 answered Tuesday August 24 2004, 7:09 pm: whats the age gap? if it isnt to horrible then you can still hang out with them every once in a while. im 18 and theres this 12 year old girl that is my friend. yeah sometimes i really dont feel like haning out with a little kid but every once in a while its ok. Basically just lie every once in a while and say your busy, but do hang out with them a little. in a few years the age gap wont be as bad and true friends are hard to find out there [ russianspy1234's advice column | Ask russianspy1234 A Question ]
xlostangelx answered Tuesday August 24 2004, 1:01 pm: i had this EXACT problem b4 ..and the way i handled it was that i simply said "listen, you're a really good person and an awesome friend...but i think that the age difference is a bit much..and i kno it doesnt matter about age wen yur in a friendship but therez thingz that im going thru at my age that yu wuldnt understand yet..so we can still talk and everything but just not hang out as much.."
try that...hope this helped..if yu need more help..feel free to ask!! good luck!!!!
icey0990 answered Tuesday August 24 2004, 12:18 pm: I think telling them straight out might be hurtful. Maybe your friend will catch on if you get a friend of yours...who also talks to this friend..to bring up you as a subject and say " i think (your name) is gettin kinda old to chill with you.." Your friend should catch on.
Its a tough situation..good luck! :)
