Keeping focused

Question Posted Wednesday August 18 2004, 9:16 pm

I'm trying to write a final paper but I'm having a helluva time concentrating. Anyone have tips on keeping focused (besides not looking at websites instead of working)?

When writing a paper, a good rule of thumb is to be interested in your topic. Make it your own and have fun with it. There is no easy way around it—you must simply dedicate your time, efforts, and attention, to the paper. This is the definition of “concentration”. I'm sure you know this. Now get to work and finish your paper (smile)!

Well if you're typing it on the computer then yeah it's going to be hard not to look at any websites or talk to people online.. if you talk or browse sites while trying to work, it'll take twice as long to finish. Just close all your browsers and any chat windows and just work. It won't take as long as you think and then after you can do whatever you want.. you're just going to have to focus on it, there aren't really many ways to keep you from getting distracted.

Hello =) I would suggest going to the Library. It's really quiet there.
