hair

Question Posted Friday August 13 2004, 7:36 pm

Ok, I have thick, brown, shoulder-length hair, and normally, I straighten it every day with my CHI straightener. But everytime I straighten it, it gets messed up within the next 30 minutes. So my question is, what should I use to keep my hair straight for the longest period of time possible? Like, should I use a gel type substance? If so, exactly what brand do you suggest, and exactly HOW do I apply it? Thanks so much!

If your doing your hair in the summer weather, the humidity can cause it to curl/frizz w/e. i have very curly hair and i used 2 straighten it 24/7, but it would just poof out. i'd recomend giving your hair a break and wearing it wavy until the fall/winter months when its more likely to stay in. but if you want to straighten it in summer weather, bed head 'afterparty' (the jar looks like a penis) works pretty well at keeping your hair in tact. it wont stay perfect, but this product will help it stay better. apply the product by putting a small amount in ur hands and rubbing it together, start in the back and smooth through until u get the front. dont use 2 much in the front or it will look greasy.

just wondering but whats CHI.. i've never heard of it.. i think its a brand of straightener? um but i wouldnt use gel cause your hair wont look good it will be hard where you added the gel so.. maybe try some kind of finishing spray. Or when you straighten your hair do it 2 times ...like wait awhile then go back and do it. -aMaNdA<3*

Get a staight perm. Buy a perm from any store. All you do is put everything in besides the rollers (That makes your hair curly). =)

i have to straighten my hair everyday too. What i wud do is spray it with a little bit of hairspray then comb it and then straightin it, for some people this might make ur hair look kinda greasy but for most people it works and stays in longer! i hope that helps!

hmm...well since your hair is doing this kind of out of no where, it may mean that your hair needs to be more heavily conditioned, try biolage conditioning balm and apply it once a week for 3-10 min. also you may want to try, tresemme smoothing gel, squirt a small amount on your hands and work through your hair, if you put too much on your hair wont feel as soft as it normally is. well i hoped that ive helped you some, if you have any more questions ask me, whitney!

After straightening it, try 2 put sum gel (not a lot), or some mousse in ur hair. U could also try this stuff called pomade (which I use after I straighten my hair). Also, try 2 stay away from brushing ur hair 2 much cuz that will just mess it up even tho u think it's helping keep ur hair straight. Instead just run ur fingers thru ur hair. Also, make sure ur hair doesn't get wet/sweaty after u straighten it cuz that will mess it up bcuz the water breaks down w/e it is that's keeping ur hair straight. Hope I helped!
