jeans to skirt
does anyone know how to make a skirt out of an old pair of jeans???

Just take some scissors and if you need to sew some spots do that, and just play around with different designs to make one that best fits you...

it depends... lol. if their low rider jeans then thats gunna b a short ass skirt!! lol. you cute it pretty much above the croch area. lol. and then thats the skirt!! lol. my friends do it all the time i hope i turns out cute. have fun. good luck. <3 xogiggles37xo.

My friend did this:
1:Cut off the legs of the jeans (any leanth u want)
2: Cut out the crotch part of the pants
3: Take a section from the left-over leg
4: Sew it on the inside of the skirt (the triangle part) where u cut the crotch out
5: Put it on!!!

ive never done this, but i guess you could cut em like shorts then cut the middle part out so its a skirt..im not sure if it'd work tho..good luck! :)

yeah u cut where the pants meet =) its really short tho ;)

1. you cut the length to about your knees
2. cut the seams on the inside of the legs
3. sew the fronts together,then the backs
4. if you want the skirt shorter, put it on, get a marker and mark where you want to cut

THat web site tells u step by step, annd here is another one....
take our the stiching around the bottom of the waistband, and detach it from the rest of the pants. then i cut off the legs from the crotch, and shortened them to around the length i wanted. then, i took out the stiching in the seams that did not have the stiching showing(for visual purposes) i sewed these endges together, adding a bit mor denim in between, but i sewed these on the outside, so that down the side of the jeans is a frayed fringe.then, just sew the waistband back on, belt loops and all. you may also want to add a zipper, because it's to hard to get on.
i also found the cooles thing at fabricland, Denim thread! it's a special gold coloured, heavy duty, thread that looks like the kind they use a lot on jeans now.

cut right below the crotch line so that the jeans are totally open at the bottom. get the skirt al evened up and tear all the little stringy things off. The depending on how long you want it, start taking the leg part of the jeans and sew that on to the bottom to add length!!!!
