i have been riding for 4 years. i have been in the same place you are right now.!. DONT BE NERVICE! stay cool and the horse will stay cool..your coach will be there for you just listen to what he or she tells you..your really have fun..when i rode a horse like his name was Danny he bucked he did everything to get out of jumping or centering you just gotta be strong i mean i ended up showing him for two years! i hope i helped.!. ]
do groundwork with him...groom him every time you see him, lead him around the paddock/farm/wherever. talk to him and help him gain your trust. he needs to know that he can be safe with you. get him used to your habbits and ride him as often as you can. when you start to ride him, take it slow, and make sure you dont let him know you are nervous (if you are). Be aggressive(lol, not like physicaly aggressive) and let him know that you are in control, while also letting him know you wont hurt him. dont ride with a crop, it will only create a space of tensity between your relationship with your horse and make him more skiddish. my horse is a little spazzy too, and shes bitchy cause she is a mare, lol. i am trying to the same things with her so she can gain my trust (because she is finishing her training).
hope i helped!! Please rate me

hold on tight, and dont be nervous, because the horse will be able to tell, if hes good at his jumps, then you'll be fine, i used to ride and trust me, just hold on tight, dont be scared, and you'll be fine, hope it all works out for ya, glad ta help -Dr.Anqel ]
