Heyy!! My pony is 9 and she has a bitchy attitude. I've found that it almost always helps if before I ride her I groom her and give her a peppermint and a sugar cube. When I'm riding her she usually tries to buck or rear, so when she does that I just sit back, Um when you start riding your horse you should do the same.. sit back. The horse will realize that you wont deal with all that and should stop. If she behaves, give her treats after you ride. If she doesn't, then don't give her treats. Thats totally helped my pony :)

get her used to having a saddle put on her back...and when she tries to pull crap on you give her a little pop with a crop and let her know that she just cant push you around and make YOU do what SHE wants to do!!!! Be real bossy at first(sounds kind of cruel but mares and very stubborn and they just need to be controlled a little more different then a gelding!!!) put her on a longe line for about 30 minutes each day in full tack and get her used to being worked! And when she does what you ask her to..give her a treat!! (Applez N' Oats are the best treats ever!!!)And when your not working her, just love on her and groom her and let her know that you want to be her friend and not some body on her back that whips her with a stick!!! lol....just be patient and she will be an awesome horse in no time!

i actually used 2 have a horse, and mares are juss randomly bitchy. they are very moody thats why people normally buy geldings. if she is being trained u should try to give her treats before and after you ride so she isnt so uneasy about riding. i found when giving my pony a small treat before we rode (like a couple of sugar cubes) and a larger treat after we rode (an apple or carrot) , he seemed to enjoy the ride much more. try spending more time with her so she becomes more accustomed to her. you should try hooking her up to a lunge line and let her circle around the rink. you could try sitting on her and only walking. or just even putting the saddle on her so she gets accustomed to everything. don't jump into things too fast, you or your horse could end up getting hurt.

Ha. Thats funny.. my friend is going through the same situation. Well try grooming her and leading her by yourself. While doing this, talk to her, if she learns to know your voice, she will be forever loyal when you go to ride her... other then that ever heard of Linda Parelli? She has books and cool stuff you can read online that has everything and anything to do with groundwork.

Good luck
