Babysitting HELP I have gone through a 14 hour babysitting course at Baylor Hospital, I am certified at the heimlech maneuver and CPR. I think that I am fully qualified to babysit, and my parents say thatt i can. The problem is, I have only had one real job! No one asks me because I am short for my age, therefore I look young but I am very mature. How do I get babysitting jobs?
Signed,
Helpless

Flyers aren't really dangerous, as long as you talk to the person first, but business cards work better because in the paper you will still get weirdos. Business cards, atleast you kind of choose who you can give them to. Hope I've helped. ♥ ]
Send out babysitting forms to your neighboorhood and put it in their mailbox - so they know how old you really are. But, if you have a neighborhood directory (which I do) I go through it and mark off which people have kids and which mailbox I put it in! Hope I helped. <3 Steph ]
Well I would tell people that live near you that you are available. Only tell people you are available if you know them. You can show them your certificate that u completed the course!

Make some flyers or try to get an ad in the paper. Once you start getting more jobs, be the best you can be and people will suggest you to others! That will gaurentee you more buisness!
Much love

put a add in the papper stateing your stuff ]
Maybe you could make some business cards on your computer or something.Hand them out to people you see with kids or if you go to church maybe people there.Or even at school you can give them to teachers to pass out.GOOD LUCK! ]
hang up signs, make cards, advertise in the news paper. You can definetly do it girl! If you know anyone that works at a preschool or is a teacher for any grade where children are still young enough to be babysat, have them recommend you. Put the word out. See if your one babysitting job can recommend you to anyone. There is so much to do and it's fun to make ads and stuff. You see how easy it is? If you need anymore help just ask me, and *please* rate me if you get the chance.

after i read the addition info, im gunna answer
well instead of flyers all around, put flyers in mailboxes of people u kno who have kids, if there are kids around u, like if u live on a street full of them, or a cul-de-sac, then hang wit the lil kids (if they're not to annoyin)
the parents will be like, o shes so good wit the kids, thats how me n my sis got r jobs
GL, hope there isn't a sicko out there tryin to get you hehe sry HAD to say that lol im just messin around
How old are you? you sound so mature thats y i made that lil joke up there
and ur question on how much ads cost, like sum abount of cents per word, either a nickel or a dime i think, i had to put an article in the paper b4 (ad) and it cost me about $20-$30 ]
Fliers in local stores or something like that-trix ]
What I think you should do is go to some freinds of the family, and ask them if they need any help or know of anybody that needs help. Make sure they know that you are certified, because that will have a big influence if they choose you or not. Hope I helped. ]
I'd say distribute flyers, but for safety reasons don't post them in public places, have them photocopied and roll them up and leave them in people's door handles... only in your own neighborhood! Don't leave them with any house that makes you uncomfortable... maybe look around for evidence of children (swingsets, toys in the yard, it's usually pretty obvious).
Don't accept babysitting jobs outside your neighborhood unless the people heard of you from someone you sit for a lot. Call and make sure that's the reference they got. You're smart to think about security. ]
Well to get a babysitting job u can ask to hang flyers at schools or stores n tell them about urself so0o Parents miight be interested. I kno that there is sick people but u can do sumthing about that n ads dont cost that much! N u can also go to ppls house u think are not sick n wat u aprove of! ]
hand out flyers in your neighborhood or around neighborhoods close to you and on the flyer put your name age (not height haha) experience (14 hour babysitting class...certification...cpr...etc.) phone number and additional information..im sure you will get alot of calls because you seem very experienced so good luck to you! ]
One way is to get a little bit of money and put an ad in the paper. It just might work, or if your neighbors have kids. Be Creative. ]
Try printing out flyers and posting them in candy store windows [where parents are bound to see them], and at your local grocery stores. Tell your friends to recommend you.. and have your parents inform their coworkers! Goodluck!! Have fun! ]
Well, people aren't going to walk up to you randomly on the street and ask if you can take care of their children. You need to network. Tell your parents to let people that they know, know that you are interested in watching kids. People will generally only let people they actually know, or whose family they know watch their children. So ask your parents to put a good word in for you to people they know who might be looking for a sitter. ]
