ilovedinseyland3 answered Monday July 19 2004, 3:46 pm: I think everyones opinion on the piercing will be different. But heres my story, When I stepped into the room the guy had me stand up and he marked where he was going to pierce with a little pen. Then I agreed with the spot, so he clapmed it with this little clamp (not very painful) Then I lied down, and he just stuck the needle through the inside of my belly button and brought the ring through. It wasn't painful to me, I think knowing how much it was worth it made it easy. So don't be afriad, and if it does hurt even a little its way worth it! Mel answered Monday July 19 2004, 10:41 am: I think it's different dependig on where you go... But when i got mine done the first time, the "artist" layed me down in a chair, & cleaned my belly button with alcohol and a cloth. after that he took some clamps (and no, they don't hurt) and put them on my belly button where he was going to pierce it. Then he took the needle and put it through. It didn't hurt too bad, it just felt like a bee sting at first.
p.s. the guy REALLY messed mine up though, so make sure that when you go to get it done, you check out all your options, cause if you go to the wrong place you're going to get screwed over and have a nice SCAR where you got it done. (ask me, i know, lol.) if it's smokey when you go in, don't get it done there. make sure you ask to see how they clean their utensils so that you can make sure they're good about it. and if you're allergic to any kind of jewelry, make SURE you don't make a mistake and pick the wrong kind. i know it sounds like a lot, but if you want it done right then you'll take the precautions. good luck. S_C answered Monday July 19 2004, 8:05 am: well i kno how they put it in
1st they clean around the belly button with alcohal or sumthin
then they get a needle and stick it thru the belly button
then they put the ring in
my sis got it dun, im not really sure if they do anything else
and if u want a REALLY sterile place to go, go to get it done at the doctos office
thats where i get all my piercings dun, cuz once i'd gotten a piercing on top of my ear, and it was so small and so swolen it got stuck IN my ear
so my dr said if u wanna get a piercing, the doctors is a great place to do it
But idk if it's more expensive, cheaper, or the same price
ShOrTnSwEeT42094 answered Monday July 19 2004, 7:22 am: Sure!! You lay down on a table, very similar to what you lay on at a doctor's office. They swab alcohol(I believe that was it)on your belly button and the skin around it to clean and streilize the area. Then they take, what basically looks like tongs(you know the kind you use in your kitchen,to pick up somethin hot out of a pot)that have a rubberband wrapped around the handle to strengthen the grip, and they pinch and slightly life the top part of skin, above your belly button, right where the needle, and later the belly ring will go thru. Then they take the needle, which is several inches long and ease it thru that skin. They may either put the needle in thru the bottom or the top.Mine was done from the bottom. It's just a quick pinch, and before you know it,it's over and they're poppin the belly ring in there!!:) It may bleed just a tad, mine did,but that's normal!!Take any anti-inflamatory like Advil or Ibuprofen for any aches and pains afterward, and a heating pad is good to lay on your tummy for a bit if it's hurtin you a bit.Make sure to keep it good and clean. You'll want to apply hydrogen peroxide, that's usualy what they tell you,to each hole to clean it out,and if you get the ring instead of a barbell, make sure you turn it!!My piercing guy recommended standing in the shower and letting the warm water run right on my belly button and rotate my belly ring. That really helped!!Best of luck hunnie and make sure you find a good, reputable place that uses very sterile materials.Make sure they wash their hands and you see them bring in the needle and the ring in clean packages, and already streilized!!!I've had mine for 2 1/2 years now and love it!!! Good luck, you'll do just fine!! ;) [ ShOrTnSwEeT42094's advice column | Ask ShOrTnSwEeT42094 A Question ]
