how come whenever i log in it says i have 1 new in my inbox but then as soon as i click on the inbox it says i have no unanswered questions??

I had this problem before also. I asked the advicenator administrator, but I haven't heard back. My advice would be to ask him. Maybe you'll have more luck getting a response.

Whomever asked you the question deleted it before you were able to read it.
It's just kind of a kink where the (1) doesn't go away until you click on it and see nothing.
