anorexic?

Question Posted Thursday July 1 2004, 11:27 am

theres this friend that i have, lets call her "lindsay" shes REALLY skinny i mean like a size 1 or 3 and she's like 5' 8" and she weighs like a hundred pounds. the problem is she hardly eats, i'm sayin like she won't eat anything! i was at her house and for breakfast she ate like 2 bites of an apple and said she was full, for lunch, she had a half of a sandwhich, and only took like 2 bites, and she wouldn't eat dinner cuz she said she wasn't hungry. i told her she would hurt herself, and she said it worked for mary-kate! she says her goals for the start of the school year, she wants to be a size 00 and lose 30 lbs! I want to help my friend, what can i do?

My best friend did the same thing. Watch her and tell her that she needs to eat and have someone make sure that she dosent throw it up. If all fails tell a parent.-tiffany croft

You really need to talk to her mom or a doctor because that could kill her so bad! Just talk to her parents and if they dont listen have your mom take you somewhere where you can get help for her because thats not good to be that small, Its actually a MAJOR turn off! you can tell her that too, guys dont like really really skinny girls! Because they feel that they can break them. Well best of luck to you!

Tell her how you feel. It is a very serious issue. Maybe she wants to model, but not tell anyone because she might get laughed at. She can hurt herself really really badly.

This is pretty serious. I had to take a class about eating disorders. Once you start one its really hard to get rid of it. One of my best friends is anorexic and she was starting to get better by the end of the school year. When your doing it you dont realize what it can cause. In some cases it even causes death. You should try sitting down and reallly talking to her. if it doesn't work you need to tell her parents or someone else that might help. Me and 2 of my other friends told our school supervisor about it one day because my friend almost passed out in the bathroom she got really mad and said she'd never talk to me again cause I took all the blame for it so she wouldn't be mad at the other too. I told her she'd thank me one day that what I did was the best for her And after about 2 days she forgave me. Also, anorexia can cause someone to lose their period, become really boney and pale. If this doesn't work then I know a few helplines for eating disorders that would help you.
-National Eating Disorders Association

-Ingraham Hotline 1-888-568-1112

-Something Fishy website
www.somethingfishy.org

- Call a local hospital and talk to their eating disorder program if they have one.

Good Luck! Hope Lindsay gets better!

she wants to be 70lbs? and she's 5.8"? that's crazy, and you better tell her that. You HAVE to tell her parents, and pronto. She NEEDS to eat, like right NOW.
tell your parents as well, lots of times they can help too, telling her parents, or just helping you, yknow, the whole deal.
you also gotta confront her. she might get mad. she might deny it, but hey, if she respects your opinion, you might have an impact.

Well if she knows what happend to mary-kate then she knows that she isant doing well and since she is "anorexic" she isant fealing good. Tell your friend it is not good bnot to eat. Tell her to keep eating a work out eveyday and she will stay in good shape. Thats what i do and i am looking good {lol} tell her she can really hurt herself if she doesn't eat. eating the the most important thing that keeps you mostly alive and healthy. Try talking to her about this and maybe you guys can go to a gym together after she starts eating good and then she will be much healthier and happier.
hope i helped~

You should tell "lindsay" that that is really gross for her to be that skinny. i dont think a lot of guys would like her if she is that skinny (tell her this if she wants a bf or sumthin)..and unless she wants rumors started about her then to start eating!
