FernGully answered Monday June 14 2004, 2:38 pm: In Ontario, it is legal for someone in a position of authority to use force to discipline a child. However, it must be considered 'within reason'. So if a kid pushes his brother, you can wallop him up side the head. People should not test the limits of these laws.
Sometimes kids could use a good ear pull.
As for a hug, well, ya as long as you dont hurt them I guess. If you go after them with a huge bear hug and suffocate them, I supose that would be pretty bad, but a kind parent hug even when the kid is mad is not illegal. Thats pretty crazy, I guess your having problems with your parents or this is a parent having problems with their teens?
