i personally dont think its illegal to spank your OWN kid i mean come on you have to disiplin your kids!!now a days omg!!child abuse !!!well in some cases yes!!i think child abuse is when your taking your anger or whatever out on a poor inocent child!!but i think you should only spank a kid if your there parents!!

In Ontario, it is legal for someone in a position of authority to use force to discipline a child. However, it must be considered 'within reason'. So if a kid pushes his brother, you can wallop him up side the head. People should not test the limits of these laws.
Sometimes kids could use a good ear pull.
As for a hug, well, ya as long as you dont hurt them I guess. If you go after them with a huge bear hug and suffocate them, I supose that would be pretty bad, but a kind parent hug even when the kid is mad is not illegal. Or at least, no judge would convict you of emotional damage for hugging a kid.

No, as long as your not just spanking the kid for the hell of it.. like for shits and giggles or anything like that. There has to be a reason behind it and like a lesson to be taught. And the whole hug thing. If it were illegal that would be something i have never heard of. And the dumbest thing ever. So i am sure its legal-trix

Yeah it is Legal to Spank a kid but depends on how you Spank them and whats your definiton of Spank. And it is Legal to hug your kid. Thats pretty crazy, I guess your having problems with your parents or this is a parent having problems with their teens?
