Starting An Emo/Whatever Band On Long Island, New York.
Hey, Im looking to start a band on Long Island. I play guitar and I want my band to play things people have never heard before.I listen to bands like coheed and cambria,avenged sevenfold,rise against,taking back sunday,alexisonfire,lawrence arms,afi,and a static lullaby.stuff like that. If you know anyone that plays guitar,bass,or drums please answer this if you live close.

This probably isn't the most productive way to look for band members. You've probably already tried this, but go to nearby music stores and post flyers. Make sure people around you know what type of musician your looking for.

Eek, those are good bands, but I dont know anyone around there, you could try looking for one on the internet though, i think theirs a site for it im not sure though, my friend found their bass player at a site but i dont know what it was called... try typing it in at google :-
