I have been beging for an earing for about 3 years now. im 14 and in 8th grade i reall really want it but there is just no way that i can convince my parents i dont know what to do please someone help me in ways to convince them ive tried school grades are good chores for free and even going shopping for them once in awhile i dont know what to do anymore.....
xokristabelle answered Saturday May 29 2004, 2:23 pm: Explain everything to them. Tell them where you want the earring, why, and all the costs. Tell them what you told me- you are responsible, do your chores, and have good grades. Do you go to a junior high? Ask for it as an 8th grade graduation gift. Good luck! Ask them their reasons why they won't allow it. Maybe you and your parents can compromise for when the time is right. Remind them that you are getting old enough to make responsible decisions and that getting an earring will not change who you are. It's just a fashion statement. The way to getting things you want is buy talking. Even ask them if you can pay for it somehow and let them pick out the earings. Tell them there are earings that are very nice and presentable. Or you can get those fake kinds and where those just so your parents will get used to the idea of having extra holes in your head.
