So long as we're in "civilization" we're at the top. If we're swimming in shark infested waters or skinny dipping in the Amazon- not so much. [ saucysue's advice column | Ask saucysue A Question ]

Sure, we eat and/or kill most creatures out there. Then again, we are also eaten and/or killed by some of these creatures.
Most people, alright, almost everyone, says that we're at the top of the food chain. SO you could go with that, I guess. It's all on how you look at things. (I personally think that it's more like a food cycle, instead of a chain, since everything is eaten by something else....) [ foxshadow's advice column | Ask foxshadow A Question ]
sp4rklingr4in answered Thursday March 18 2004, 7:24 pm: I would have to say yes, but actually my theory is that us humans have completely isolated outselves and other domesticated animals into a completely different food chain. I wouldn't really say that humans are at the top, because if you really think about it, humans are practically like a plague. We come, eat, demolish, pollute, and take up lots of space. We just keep on reproducing and our whole species has covered the entire face of the planet. We are the only animals who have not learned to live WITH our enviornment and no animals actually eat humans as part of their daily diet. So once again, Iwould have to say yes. Humans are indeed at the top of the food chain.
Logic-Man answered Thursday March 18 2004, 6:11 pm: See, things eat humans, humans eat things. Define the 'top'. Evolution wise we have great advantages, yet we don't use most of them and are thus incredibly stupid. But I guess since we're slightly better equipped at killing and eating them than they are us (weaponry and technology) I guess it'd be yes. [ Logic-Man's advice column | Ask Logic-Man A Question ]
