Positioning iframes

Question Posted Tuesday March 9 2004, 8:04 pm

I have a webpage question. I want to put my livejournal into my webpage with an iframe like before, but now I want it to be specifically positioned. Like, first I want it to be 164 pixels from the left and have the actual iframe be 400(wide)by 331(high). My question is... how do I do this, or can I, even?

The iframe tag itself contains the properties width and height (in pixels or percentage of screen).

I suggest specifying the height and width in the iframe tag itself and enclosing it in a div. Then use CSS to position the div 164 px from the left.

if that doesn't work, drop me a line and we can play with it a bit.

I've never used iFrames, but I know that in CSS you can use 'position:absolute' to place a div box where you want. It would look like this:

#name{position:absolute;
margin-left:164px;
width:400px;
height:331px;
}
Try that.

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) has good tutorials on how to use html and css. I have never tried to use frames.

If you don't get a better answer from someone more familiar with this, try asking one of the advice columnists personally in their mailbox who indicates computers as a main interest, like spacefem, dolphinlover, downwithhydrogen, or MFS.
