Question Posted Wednesday December 17 2003, 3:38 pm
For the past 3 months I have had a sort of half-period. Absolutely nothing that I am used to. Before that, I just didn't get one at all for 2 months. Its very strange and somewhat concerning but I'd rather not go to the doctors if I have nothing to worry about. Help?
As for if your a virgin. If you recently started your periods, it's normal for some of the first few to be late. One time mine didn't come for a month...but then afterwards I started having them regularly again. See if it returns to normal after your next two periods. So wait two months, and if you don't get it one month then I'd go to a doctor. [ Here-To-Help's advice column | Ask Here-To-Help A Question ]

There are several factors that may be contributing to your situation, among them:increased level of stress, pre menopause, or a sudden increase in your exercise routine. Still my best advice is to see a gynecologist.

I personally usually have a heavy period followed by one a little lighter, but not like night and day different. My friend however has hormone problems and an irregular period. She takes birth control to even them out. [ chaos's advice column | Ask chaos A Question ]

Inevia answered Wednesday December 17 2003, 10:14 pm: I actually have a few questions for you:
Have you altered your diet recently?
Have you lost or gained a signficiant amount of weight?
Have you been under a lot of stress recently?
Did you recently move or start a new school?
Do you have any reason to think you might be pregnant?
You said you are not used to this: are your periods usually regular? Did you just start menstruating within the past year or so?
Did you recently stop taking birth control pills?
It is normally not a big deal to skip or have a much lighter period for a month or two, but five months is a pretty long time. As you can see, there are many possible causes, and your best option is probably to talk to a doctor, just to make sure everything is okay! [ Inevia's advice column | Ask Inevia A Question ]
shay*shay answered Wednesday December 17 2003, 3:53 pm: Okay the same thing happened to me. And I also did not go to the doctors. Enfortunetley that was when I just started so if you just barely started its normal. Though if you had it for what 5 or so years you should definetley your mom or see a doctor.
