is it mandatory for me to get a pelvic exam/pap smear..?
like if i go to the doctor because of a cold, and then they say "we need to test you for pelvic exam" am i allowed to say no thanks?? because i'm really against it.
i remember one time i went to the doctor for a physical for school and my mom was with me and they said something about pelvic exam and i thought it was my hip or something and i remember my mom said no to it. is that allowed? do i have a right to say no to the exams? or am i basically forced into it by doctors??
don't tell me "its recommended". i know its recommended. i've tried searching online and thats all i ever get. "even if you...

Too much pain from braces...!

Just recently, I had rubberbands and a heavy duty wire put onto my braces and I've had the rubberbands before and it only hurt for a day or two, but this time, the pain is so bad that I can't even eat. The rubberbands have to be changed five to seven times a day and have to stay in until my next appointment, a month or so AFTER Christmas. The pain has been with me for almost four days! I've taken almost every pain medication I can get. Ibuprofen, Aleve, Ecedern or however you spell that, but none of them work. The only pain medication that has actually worked for me in the past year was that perscription medication that Dr. House from House takes. I don't know how to spell it, but it starts with a V? Old Graham Crackers

Yesterday, my husband opened a package of those Keebler "Bug Bites". They are bug shaped graham crackers pretty much... Anyway, he ate one and it was stale and tasted horrible. It turned out they had expired in August of 2008... Today, he has been throwing up and has the runs. Is there a possibility that he got sick from eating even one of those crackers or is it just the flu and he needs to suck it up?

Ok, So... i have a large labia. it hangs outside of my outer labia. It looks like a purplish-peachy set of lips that can stretch really far but i have a boyfriend and ... he wants to finger me and i want him to. BUT i am so self conscious about my labia. My vagina is shaven, and does not smell bad at all. The only negative thing is my labia. Getting boob transplants risky for teens?

Well i am 17 and i got my period when i was 14. My boobs haven't grown at all since then. I am a 32A (and thats still a little too big for me). I feel comfortable with my personality and body, except for the boobs. And i already talked to my mom about getting them "filled up" more. I was just wondering if you knew the disadvantages to that? And what problems could it cause? thanksss.

Well i am really skinny, but barely have any muscle. I have a nice body but i want to work out more often so i can maintain my body and when im older i will look good and not just skin and bones.
what would be some work out tips for people that are skinny but want to grow muscle? Thanks!

Flu & shot

I got the flu shot again this year... however I feel awful I had it about a month or two ago. But I woke up and my nose was really runy, my body hurts I am cold and shaking... this is the exact symptoms I had when I had the flu a couple years ago.... but I had the shot???

pregnancy concerns

Alright here's the situation. I am on birth control, and take it everyday at about the same time. Last month I missed my period so I am worried I am pregnant. However, I took a pregnancy test when I didnt get my period and it was negative. I have been having really dark urine, and I'm not sure what that is from. I have been taking pain medication because I recently had surgery. I had a week where I felt really achy & I'm pretty sure I had a fever, I was getting the chills and hot & cold all the time...I'm really confused by all of this..any help?

I found a small lump on my butt hole about three and a half months ago. Its not painfull and it doesnt bleep like most people say theirs does. Its just there and its getting bigger. I'm worried about what this might be. I'm only 17 and dont want to have my parents worry if there is nothing to worry about. I'm not sexually active so it's not and STD.

nauseous every morning, abdominal pain

For the past 3 months I've felt nauseous every morning and it is very hard to get up in the morning to get to class. Also because I am very tired. But whenever I rest for a couple of more hours I feel a lot better, and I am able to go to class. Also whenever my boyfriend and I have sex, my lower stomach somewhat hurts and I feel like throwing up. I am not pregnant. I just wanted to get that straight, I recently went to the clinic, I took home pregnancy tests, and I had my period the past 3 months and I am currently on it now. Used Clorox Now Coughing Up Blood

Yesterday, my grandmother was cleaning the floor with Clorox. When she was done, she started having trouble breathing because she didn't wear anything to cover her mouth. There was also coughing. However, over night she said that she kind of felt better but she still had coughing and it sounded harsher. I think once when she spit her phlegm was a red color, looking bloody. That's when I went on the computer to do some research and it said death could occur and that's when I started getting extremely worried. I told her to go to the hospital even though it's Thanksgiving but she said that she doesn't need to go because she felt better. Now it's night time and I think she's better, she's not coughing as much but i still wish she had went. So ...

Ok I'm 14 years old and I have never had sex or anything like that. I have masturbated before but not like actually fingering myself just like rubbin my clitoris. But I have never started my period. I have pubic hair and underarm hair and I get cramps but not bad ones, like it's just gas most of the time. But I have discharge and it's a good amount too haha. But I have had discharge since I was like 11 or 12 and my mom started her period when she was 12. What do you think is wrong? Is there something wrong with me? I have like size 36a breasts and that's kinda small but why haven't I started my period? Does masturbating have anything to do with it? Heart Murmur

I just changed doctors, and on my first visit during the examination my doctor asked me how long I had a heart murmur. I had no clue what she was talking about, so she scheduled an echocardigram (or something like that).
I was just wondering what this means, is it bad? I'm taking an aerobics class in college. Will this affect what I can do? Any information will be helpful. Thanks!

I'm just going to get straightforward to the point here. Well, the lips of my vagina have been itchy for a few months now. It's not the inner parts like the actual vagina or clit, but it's more of the part where the hair grows and the part where the two outer lips meet at the top (Kind of a V shape?). I have normal discharge and period. Never had sex. So I don't understand why this is happening :/ It's really distracting sometimes when I'm at school or even at home. Anyone have any advice? Oh, and I really don't feel like telling my mom or going to the doctors or something. :P Thaanks !

ok this might sound a little gross, but im starting to worry ? yesterday, i went to the bathroom and my stools were like flat out green..? i thought it was a little weird and was like whatever. tonight, i just went to the bathrom and the same thing happened? that is not normal i dont think. does anyone know what caused this or anything? thanks!
