Start off by reading and meditating on his scriptures. then just start praying. Talk to him as if he were a normal person. The wonderful thing about having a friend like the father, is he is always there to listen. If you are having a bad day, talk to him like you would one of your friends. laugh with him, cry with him, connect with him. May God bless. [ lyonzrule's advice column | Ask lyonzrule A Question ]

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help [cometh] from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord [is] thy keeper: the Lord [is] thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth,
and even for evermore.

(this isn't the bible verse anymore) And if you are truly saved if you have asked God to come into your heart, and you belive Jesus is the son of God, and that Jesus died on the cross for you you are not going to hell. Nadia answered Monday July 3 2006, 4:33 am: I agree with all of what everyone else has said. But mostly praying, prayer is the most powerful thing. Read the Bible heaps too. Maybe join a small group or youth group too, coz I've found doing regular Bible studies has helped me a lot. Sometimes I don't feel that connection and can't even bring myself to read the Bible, but as soon as I get into a Bible study with someone I feel God inside me, and that's when I remember everything is for God...
Another good book is the 40 days of purpose book. It's by Rick Warren and it's really helpful to remind u of why you're here etc. [ Nadia's advice column | Ask Nadia A Question ]
MrsPhelps answered Monday July 3 2006, 12:34 am: I've had this problem several times, it comes in phases... The best thing to do is to sit down before you go to bed and say, "Lord, I know I've been drifting from You lately, and I feel so empty. Help me to find You again that I might be filled with You once more." Have a little talk with Him, like you would with a friend. Tell Him how you've been feeling lately, ask Him to help you find things you could do to be closer to Him again, maybe even cry, it helps in the long run.
I also recommend reading Conversations With God for Teens, by Neale Donald Walsch. It's an EXCELLENT book for getting back into the swing of Christianity, to re-enter the world of God. It also answers a lot of the toughest questions about Christianity along the way, and was very helpful to me overall.
Sorry this answer is so long, but one more thing: talk to one of your Christian friends about it, or maybe even a parent. Just someone who shares your religion who you can trust and you think might be able to help you through it. If you have a bible study or small group or something, bring it up there. I know that I would not be half as strong in my faith if it were not for my small bible study I attend, and having a support group can do WONDERS.
orphans answered Sunday July 2 2006, 4:49 pm: Church camp REALLY helped me. When we were singing the songs and I just really got into it. There's this thing in the EXTREME TEEN BIBLE called "30 Days With Jesus" Look it up or buy the bible, and do it. You read the verse it tells you to each day. And it helps ALOT. Just get really involved in church, and ask if you could lead one day. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
girdy_goo15 answered Sunday July 2 2006, 2:32 pm: well alot of people go through this, i know i did go through a trial after my carwrecks but i think what you need to do is go on a spiritual quest or so to speak. i mean like think about what you believe in and how you can change your life so you can be closer to God. also try a fast, it does bring you closer. i know it did when i fasted for 3 days, during that time all i had was water, i read the Bible, and i prayed. Afterward i accepted Islam, but it helps you realise what is important in life. And if that still leaves you with a void maybe talk to a preacher and have him answer your questions.
